What is the Full Form of SAT?

SAT stands for Scholastic Assessment Test. Students who want to be admitted to undergraduate programs must take the College Board's standardised test, the SAT. Previously, it was called the Scholastic Aptitude Test; it was then renamed, and the full form of SAT is now the Scholastic Assessment Test. The SAT was designed to evaluate candidates' writing, arithmetic, and verbal abilities. Candidates must take the SAT exam if they want to pursue college studies, particularly in the US and Canada.

Eligibility Criteria for SAT

The College Board, which oversees the SAT, has not established any precise guidelines regarding SAT eligibility for applicants.

  • Although there is no upper age limit, research indicates that applicants between the ages of 17 and 19 are the most likely to take the SAT.

  • There is no limit on how many times a candidate may take the SAT. India administers the SAT five times a year.

  • Students who want to apply for undergraduate studies overseas must have finished their high school education to move on to the next level of their studies.

SAT Examination Structure

Critical reading, mathematics, and writing are among the areas of the SAT that are required to assess the knowledge required to access and solve issues.

The SAT II exam must be taken at each university by candidates.

Reasoning Test (SAT-I)

This three-hour multiple-choice test measures a person's capacity for verbal and mathematical reasoning. Most universities require the SAT-I score.

Subject Test (SAT-II)

This one-hour multiple-choice exam assesses a student's knowledge of particular areas and ability to apply that knowledge. A few colleges also demand this score in addition to the SAT-I.
