The IELTS speaking section examines your ability to express your thoughts and ideas verbally. It consists of three sections: an introduction, a discussion of a cue card topic, and follow-up questions about the topic. Cue card subjects span a wide range of topics, and thorough and systematic responses help students gain better scores.
As part of the IELTS cue card component, one of the exam's speaking sections, you will be asked to convey your point of view on a certain topic or area. In total, there are three portions. The first component will need you to define yourself, while the second will contain the IELTS cue card. The third segment will address follow-up questions about the topics covered in Part 2.
One of the most common speaking cue card questions on the IELTS exam is "Describe a famous person that you are interested in." In this blog, we'll go over how to reply to various types of IELTS speaking cue card subjects.

India has been privileged to be home to various prominent personalities, ranging from world-class businessmen to brilliant sportsmen, who have made "India" proud.
I'm interested in Sachin Tendulkar, the former Indian cricket captain. He is a right-handed top-order batsman who is often regarded as one of the world's best cricketers. He is often known as “God of Cricket” or “Master Blaster”.
Sachin Tendulkar is most well-known for his cricket performances. He has had an outstanding career and is one of the most consistent batsmen of all time. Inexplicably, his performances have been incredible, helping India become one of the top teams in the world. Certainly, his batting records are outstanding, and he was also the former captain of the Indian national cricket team.
Tendulkar started playing cricket when he was just 11 yeard old and made his test debut against Pakistan in Karachi in 1989 at sixteen, and then went on to represent Mumbai regionally and India internationally for more than 24 years.
Tendulkar's reputation was built during the 1991-92 tour of Australia, which preceded the 1992 Cricket World Cup. During the tour, he scored an unbroken record of 148 runs in the third test at Sydney, becoming the youngest player to score a century in Australia. Since then, he has achieved milestones in cricket and has become a legendary player due to his exceptional cricket performance.
I like this person because apart from being a good batsman and cricketer, he was an excellent captain and social worker. He keeps on donating funds to several charitable organisations for the welfare of mankind. Not only is he humble and dedicated, but his performances have also been exceptional. He is a role model for many and exhibits the importance of dedication and hard work.
Overall, I respect Sachin Tendulkar because he inspires many people, including many young cricketers. His accomplishments reflect his hard work and dedication, making his journey interesting to learn about.

I’d like to talk about Ratan Tata, a renowned Indian industrialist and philanthropist whom I deeply admire. Ratan Tata has previously been the chairman of Tata Sons, one of India’s largest companies.
I learned about him through news articles and documentaries highlighting his contributions to business and society.
Before becoming famous, Ratan Tata belonged to a distinguished family with a business legacy. Despite his privileged background, he faced personal challenges, including the tragic loss of his parents at a young age. He completed his master's at Harvard University in the USA, returned to India, to start the business.
He became chairman of Tata Group in 1991. Under his leadership, Tata Group expanded globally, acquiring iconic brands like Jaguar Land Rover and becoming a leader in various industries, including steel, automobiles, and information technology.
I like Ratan Tata for his business acumen, integrity, and commitment to social causes. He initiated several philanthropic projects through the Tata Trusts, focusing on education, healthcare, and rural development, positively impacting millions of lives in India.

Nowadays, everyone wants to be popular. Individuals idolise their role models and strive to be like them. They strive to duplicate their paths. Celebrities inspire others to actively work and demonstrate their worth to the world.
I would like to meet many people, and out of all of them, one is Abhiraj, who is known for his famous YouTube channel.
I love watching informative videos on YouTube, and after watching one video, I received a recommendation for Abhiraj’s channel, Abhi and Niyu. His series of #100ReasonsToLoveIndia piqued my curiosity, and I decided to follow him after viewing it. However, Abhiraj works with his wife, Niyati, to run the channel. They are both equally involved in making videos.
Niyu is a chartered accountant, while Abhi earned his master's degree in mass and media communication from one of Mumbai's most prestigious universities. Before starting their channel, they both worked in corporate.
Abhiraj and Niyati became famous after their popular series #100ReasonsToLoveIndia. In this series, they discussed 100 positive things about India in detail. They also keep on making informative videos, which are all in favour of our nation.
One thing that I like the most about them is that they try to avoid negativity in their videos. Mostly, at the end of their videos, they try to suggest some solutions to resolve the problem.
Overall, the couple has a fantastic personality and a nice attitude toward people, which makes me a huge fan. I am always interested in listening to them.

Question: What qualities do famous people have in common?
Answer: Famous people frequently share qualities like enthusiasm, tenacity, inventiveness, great communication abilities, adaptability, and strong work ethics. These characteristics contribute to their success and capacity to influence and motivate others.
Question: What type of people are famous in your country?
Answer: People from a variety of industries in my country, including sports, business, film, and politics, have received international recognition. In my country, recognised individuals such as Mukesh Ambani in business, Narendra Modi in politics, Virat Kohli in sports, and Priyanka Chopra in Bollywood have all carved out a niche for themselves.
Question: Describe the ways through which famous people influence the public?
Answer: Public characters, whether in sports, business, film, or entertainment, can influence and inspire others with their talent, perseverance, sincerity, and distinct personalities. The way celebrities handle their personal lives, crises, and relationships can occasionally serve as a model for the general public. Also, people tend to mimic the fashion, lifestyle and other aspects of their favourite celebrities’ lives. Occasionally, they try to defend not only the mistakes of their favourite celebrities but also their own, affecting their lives in an adverse manner.
Question: How do people become famous nowadays?
Answer: Today, the introduction of social media has proven to be the most popular way to become famous. Many people believe that social networking will help them succeed. They only need to upload something interesting or distinctive, and they will become famous if it receives many views. Many people become popular overnight thanks to social media. Apart from this, many people have also become famous through reality shows, movies, and songs.
Question: What do you think about nepotism amongst popular people?
Answer: Nowadays, nepotism is a hotly debated topic, yet it has both harmful and positive sides. In Indian tradition, doing a favour for one's family is an obligation, and the family comes first. However, trusting an inefficient individual is not a good decision, and nepotism is condemned here. I think that opportunities and decisions should be made based on merit rather than relationships.
Question: What is the difference between people who were famous before and who are famous now?
Answer: Famous people in the past were more humble and diligent than they are now. Many people had no connections in the sector, so they had to make a name for themselves. They proved that they deserved to be stars. Today, the bulk of famous people are famous as a result of their forefathers' efforts. Another difference would be modesty and humility toward others. Today's generation is considered egoistic and selfish; once they get recognition, they become entirely oblivious to others and frequently forget their roots.
