CBSE stands for the Central Board of Secondary Education, a national education board in India that oversees public and private schools. The board is dedicated to providing quality education and promoting the holistic development of students.
Each year, CBSE conducts board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 students, and the CBSE Date Sheet is released a few months prior to the exams. In this blog, we will discuss the CBSE Date Sheet and the vital information it provides to help students plan their preparation effectively.
Table of Contents
A CBSE date sheet is a document or schedule that lists the dates and times for exam schedules or a timetable for a course or event. It normally contains:
Subject-wise Exam Dates
Reporting Time
Name of the Subjects
Subject Codes
Exam day instructions
CBSE usually releases the board datasheet between October and December on its official website cbse.nic.in. Once they are available, students should print them out and prepare for their exams based on the schedule. The exams are conducted one or two months after the date sheet is released.
The Board generally conducts the Class 10 board exams between January to March, and the Class 12 board exams from February to April every year.
When practical exams are involved then normally they begin in December/January and end in February months. For Class 12 students, an external examiner will visit schools for these practical exams, while Class 10 practicals will happen under the supervision of the school’s teachers.
For the 2024 board exams, the board released the date sheet in December, and the practical exams for Class 10 and Class 12 were held from January to February. For winter-bound schools, practical exams happened earlier, from November to December. The board exams took place from February to April, and the results were announced in May. The supplementary exams were held in July.
Additionally, for the 2025 board exams, the board released the date sheet in November 2024, the admit card in the second week of February 2025, and exams started on Feb 15, 2025.
