Thousands of young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 will be able to work and live in the other country for up to two years under the terms of the agreement. Indian visa nationals would be the first beneficiaries of this professional and cultural exchange program, which is comparable to current Youth Mobility Schemes for visa nationals.
It will permit up to 3,000 young Indian professionals to travel to the United Kingdom each year through this route.
Because of the UK's new points-based immigration system, India is already benefiting from the new points-based immigration system.
More than 53,000 Indian students studied in the UK last year, rising 42% from the year before, according to the most available statistics. Over a quarter of all foreign students in Britain come from India.
