UPDATES FROM UKVI FOR PRIORITY AND SUPER-PRIORITYS VISA
The mint newspaper in the UK has talked to the British high commission UK, regarding the delay of the priority and super-priority visa. There are many international students who are vigorously waiting for their UK visas. The students are waiting to take admission into the UK universities, also many students are waiting to visit the UK for their graduation or post-graduation ceremonies or many other college events.
It has been said by the spokesperson of the British high commission that they are working urgently to reduce the current processing time as quickly as possible. The delay has been caused due to the reason of Ukraine war which has also led to a delay in the Student’s visa for approx. 6-8 weeks.
It is being said by the spoke person that the Indian students are being prioritized in giving the visas, as India is a strategically important country to the UK since most of the students applying to UK universities are from India and also most of the skilled workers that the UK hires internationally are from India.
It is expected that both priority visas and super-priority visas will be resumed within 4 to 5 weeks. At the time of the visa application, if an applicant can verify his/her identity at a visa application centre, they can choose the ‘priority service’ and a decision will be made within 5 working days of appointment. For super priority service, after identity verification at a visa application centre, UK Visas and Immigration aims to make a decision within a day and the passport is ready to be collected by the end of the next working day.
