One can do some research online and connect with fellow peers to share the accommodation cost and save up some money. Moreover, there are universities that provide their students with an option to opt for one-day accommodation. One such example is Durham College, and a student can also opt for accommodation facilities with the college, and even they provide free pick-up facilities as well.
