Update on Student Visa interview for Italy

There are many students in India who are constantly trying to book slots of visa interviews for Italy. The visa interviews for Italy are very random in the Delhi consulate, which means here initially they are not taking any visa interviews. Whereas if we talk about the Mumbai consulate- here this time the visa interviews are being conducted, unlike the previous years when the visa interviews weren’t conducted. 

Generally, in the visa interviews happening in the Mumbai consulate, questions related to the course field are asked. For example, if you are going to Italian University for an IT course, then basic IT-related questions can be asked like about the course, curriculum, name of the subjects, etc. So the students are advised to be prepared accordingly. 

Moreover, if we talk about the Kolkata Consulate- the visa interviews are being conducted similarly as they were conducted in the previous years. Firstly, you need to file for a visa. After that, the consulate (whether in Mumbai or Delhi, or Kolkata) can ask for an interview at any time after applying for the visa. They can take your interview in any mode, either by sending you a link of a skype interview on your email, or they can also take an interview through video conferencing like previously. The students should regularly check their mail IDs which they have mentioned while applying for the visa so that they do not miss any interview information. The link for visa interviews can also come in a week or 2 after submitting your visa application. 

Apart from this, there is a shortage of visa appointments in the Delhi consulate and the slots are not easily available right now. Though the Consulate does open the visa slot, but the slots are not being opened regularly. To overcome this problem, the students should remember that they check for the slots at least 3 to 4 times a day, especially they should check at odd times like in the evening after 7 pm or in the morning before 10 am. As at the odd hours, the chances of getting the visa interview slots are slightly more.
