Birkback welcomes student application without traditional entry qualifications, as the selection is based on the assessment of their knowledge and previous work experience. Also, students can receive waivers for some formal entries based on their academic potential. In order to apply for undergraduate degree programs, one must have a Higher Secondary Certificate. For post-graduate taught courses, the IELTS requirement may vary for a few courses a minimum of 6.5 (with no less than 6) is required. While for a few courses, a minimum of 7 (with no less than 6.5) is required.
For TOEFL, the standard requirement is 79, while some courses may require a minimum score of 94.
For PTE, the standard requirement is 62, but some courses may require a minimum score of 68
If any students cannot fulfil the English Requirement, then they can enrol for the pre-sessional English courses and foundation program at the university.
