An education system, in the words of Einstein, is simply evil if it “inculcates an exaggerated
competitive attitude into the student, who is trained to worship acquisitive success as a
preparation for his future career”. A rigid education system weeds out independent thinkers;
becoming a glass ceiling for innovators and leaders. Even with a rich history of young
renegades leading the nation, the Indian education system still fails to consider a student to be
anything more than a cog in the wheel. The system is designed in a way that holds most
students in a vicious cycle for generations. While focused on examinations, jobs and salaries
to sustain themselves and their families, students do not get an opportunity to aim for
excellence in any form. This makes overseas education a necessity.
After finishing high school, I pursued my Bachelor's from Oxford Brookes University. Before
coming back to India in 2016, I had the opportunity to explore the education system and work
culture abroad. Therefore, I understand the necessity of overseas education. Studying abroad
has advantages beyond a better profile or higher income. Everything from politics to business
runs at an international level now; foreign education has become the key to success in this
global economy. But while I witnessed tremendous growth opportunities during my time
abroad, I had a fair share of struggles as an international student in a new country. This
experience became my inspiration to create Meridean Overseas Education Consultants. With
this organisation, I strived to bring study-abroad opportunities to every student’s doorstep.
