  1. DSH—German universities approve this examination, one of the three German language exams recognised by them.

  2. TestDaF- More than 100 nations have recognised this exam for use in their institutions.

  3. Goethe-ZertifikatC1- This test attests to your advanced proficiency in German.

For courses taught in English, students can opt for PTE Academics, IELTS Academic, or TOEFL iBT.

Application Process to Study Abroad in Germany

After completing the application materials, students are required to submit their university applications. The application process can be completed by students in person, by mail, or online. Although online applications are the most popular, it is important to note that certain German institutions only accept applications sent in or picked up in person.

Most German institutions use UniAssist technology, which enables students to apply for courses online. However, a few colleges also have websites for online applications. In any case, students must send their application materials in JPG or PDF format.

Things to Consider While Studying in Germany

Affordable Accommodation

Germany offers reasonably priced rental flats in the most sought-after places and is among the most multicultural and lively nations. Keep an eye out for reasonably priced rental flats close to the institution. If you are having trouble finding an apartment online, consider compiling a list of places where reasonably priced lodging is offered.

Search for students who might like to split their housing. It will save some additional expenses. If you have no family in Germany, you might check internet forums created by Indian students already residing there to see if anyone would be interested in sharing an apartment.

Financial Resources

An Indian student has to be financially stable to get admitted to universities in Germany. The government does not want students to rely on something other than government funding, as it burdens the nation's finances, but instead wants to give possibilities to students who can support themselves. There are other ways for students to prove they have the money to study in Germany, but the blocked account is by far the most suitable.

A blocked account in Germany is a bank account where Indian students deposit money to show they have enough funds to finance themselves. Indian students who wish to study in Germany must have a minimum of EUR 11,208 placed in their restricted account to be eligible for a visa.

University Charge Fees

Most Indian students, particularly those from India, are confused by the costs levied in German colleges. In Germany, public higher education is primarily provided at no cost. Nonetheless, several German states have universities that charge only minimum tuition fees. Moreover, Indian students must pay tuition fees at private German institutions.

Part-time Jobs

Students can pay for a portion of their expenses by taking part-time jobs in addition to their education. In Germany, Indian students are permitted to work up to 20 hours a week.

Health Insurance to Study in Germany for Indian Students

Indian students are required to have health insurance. In the event of an emergency, Indian students should be covered for all of their medical requirements by their health insurance. All the German universities require you to apply for health insurance before you can enrol.
