The process of applying to universities in UK for the fall intake typically involves the following steps:
Research: Start by researching the universities which are offering courses and programs you are interested in and ensure that they fall within your budget. Students are advised to shortlist at least 3 to 4 universities.
Collect your academic documents: As soon as you shortlist UK universities, you must check the eligibility criteria and collect all your previous academic documents and other documents required to apply to that university.
Personal Statement: Write a personal statement highlighting your motivations for studying your chosen subject and why you're a suitable candidate for the program.
References: Obtain two references from teachers or academic advisors who can vouch for your academic abilities and achievements.
Tests: Take any necessary entrance exams, such as the IELTS (for non-native English speakers), and include the results in your application. Some UK universities may also require standardised admission tests scores such as GRE, GMAT, and LSAT.
Make an Application: After compiling all these documents, apply to your shortlisted universities for your preferred course. Make sure you attach all the necessary documents with your application.
Wait for a response: You will have to wait for universities to review your application and accept your application. Universities will send you an offer letter if your profile is strong.
Apply for the visa: As soon as you receive your offer letter, you must apply for a UK student visa through their online portal.
Fill out the online visa application form: Fill out the application form, pay the visa fee, and book an appointment at a visa application centre.
Attend Biometrics: Attend an appointment at a visa application centre to provide biometric information, such as fingerprints and a digital photo.
Submit Supporting Documents: Submit your supporting documents in person at the visa application centre or via mail.
Wait for a decision: The visa processing time varies, but you should typically receive a decision within three weeks.
