The IELTS speaking module has a cue card section which requires students to demonstrate their speaking skills. The speaking section is around 11 to 14 minutes long; comprising three subsections. First, the examiner establishes rapport and interacts with the student. Then after, the student will get the cue card topic and a minute to prepare for the same. Then, they speak on the given topic, and lastly, the examiner asks some follow-up questions related to the cue card.

Describe a skill that you can teach other people cue card- sample answer 1

Introduction

I believe every person possesses a skill or talent that he or she can teach someone. Nowadays, people enrol in many activities so that they can engage in various things at once and develop different skills. Likewise, today, I will be discussing a skill that I can teach someone.

What is it?

The skill I am talking about is sketching and painting.

How did you learn it?

I learned sketching and painting as a kid during my summer vacations. I was introduced to it during my vacations and developed a significant interest in it. My mother also played a vital role in this, as I was motivated to learn it more by looking at her paintings.

How can you teach others this skill?

Sketching and painting might seem like an art that only a creative person can do, but that is not the truth. I feel everyone can learn it. I can teach this skill to others via both online and offline means. I will teach sketching and painting to someone by telling them the basics that I learned when I was a kid and then proceeding further.

How do you feel about this skill?

Sketching and painting are modes of expression and gateways to decompressing from busy schedules. However, I also believe that sketching and painting are not everyone’s cup of tea, but if someone is interested even the tiniest bit and does not know where to start, they can learn and be good at it.

Conclusion

To conclude, I think that I can teach the art of sketching and painting to others pretty well.

Describe a skill that you can teach other people cue card- sample answer 2

Introduction

Teaching is an art in itself. Teachers, from the very beginning of our lives, form a foundation academically and help us inculcate certain values and things. In this context, I will be discussing a skill that I can teach someone and have already taught others.

What is it?

The skill I am talking about is a martial arts form called Taekwondo.

How did you learn it?

I learned taekwondo by enrolling myself in a class when I was in 6th standard and developed the skill over time.

How can you teach others this skill?

Teaching taekwondo needs to be done in an offline setting as it needs proper monitoring and guidance. So, I will also teach others this skill in offline settings such as a studio or my home space as required.

How do you feel about this skill?

I feel very confident about this skill of mine. Firstly, this skill has given me the confidence to safeguard myself from difficult situations, which I think is necessary for all girls today. Secondly, with the help of this skill, I stay physically fit, which is again required in today’s time due to everyone’s work schedule and 9-to-5 job.

Describe a skill that you can teach other people cue card- sample answer 3

Introduction

Being multi-skilled gives individuals an edge in today’s times. Every company and college wants a person with multiple talents, and not every person has these talents inherited. Some of these skills can also be learned; it is a matter of interest in the end. Today, I want to share a skill that I know and can teach others as well.

What is it?

The skill I am talking about is calligraphy, a form of hand-writing.

How did you learn it?

I learned calligraphy during one of my school summer vacations. I have always been interested in improving my handwriting, so I enrolled in a class and learned all the basics and tricks of the writing style.

How can you teach others this skill?

Calligraphy is a skill that can only be taught through offline methods. There are certain tricks and techniques that can only be taught when someone is guiding you through them.

How do you feel about this skill?

I feel good about this skill because anyone can improve their handwriting with it. By improving handwriting skills, one can easily elevate their projects, papers, and more in schools and college.

Conclusion

To conclude, I would say that calligraphy is a missing gem that people should focus on; its use can elevate one’s work, and I can teach it with quite ease.

IELTS Speaking Part 3- Follow-up questions

Question- Should teachers use a funny approach when they teach?

Answer- Yes, I think humour is a good teaching tool. It makes the classroom more engaging and improves the bonds between teachers and students. Put differently, students feel comfortable talking to instructors about their questions and concerns. Teachers must, however, know when to be strict in the classroom and ensure discipline in the classroom environment.

Question- What qualities should teachers have?

Answer- I think the most essential thing for instructors is great communication skills. They need to be able to instruct using simple language. They ought to be keen observers as well. They have to be able to recognise the students' worries and fears. Finally, patience is needed in teaching. Instructors must be ready to repeat instructions to pupils if they have trouble understanding them.

Question- What is more important, academic or practical skills?

Answer- In my opinion, both academic and practical skills are essential. With academic skills, students develop a foundational base, which is usually recognised with certificates and degrees and is valued in various domains. On the other hand, practical skills are essential because they equip the students with skills to perform the task. Practical skills are primarily beneficial when applied to real-life scenarios.

Question- Which age group is optimal for learning?

Answer—I really think that age shouldn't be a barrier to learning. Learning is an ongoing process that we all go through in life. Learning something new every day allows one to enhance one's cognitive abilities.

Question- What abilities does a child acquire from his or her teachers and parents?

Answer- A child may learn numerous qualities from his parents and instructors, such as honesty, deference to authority, timeliness, and many more. Further, parents and teachers play a major role in helping kids develop important life skills.
