Photography is a very common passion of today's young generation. I enjoy taking pictures of the lovely things around me. Here, I'll also be describing a recent shot I took for this cue card topic that I'm really happy with.
During a trip to the African Savannah jungle safari, I captured the beauty of wildlife: a picture of a majestic lion and his playful cubs. I took this photo on a clear morning at sunrise, with the sun casting a magical glow over the plains. It was July 15th, a day I remember clearly.
I used my trusty DSLR camera, which had a powerful lens and quick shutter speed, perfect for capturing fleeting moments in nature.
In the picture, a strong and majestic male lion with a fiery mane stood confidently. Beside him were his playful cubs—three lively young lions happily exploring around, quite different from their father's calm and composed manner.
I'm proud of this photo for its emotional impact. It captures a fleeting moment of family bonding in the wild, a scene rarely seen and even less often captured on camera.
The composition is perfect. It blends vibrant colours, from the green grass to the warm tones of the lion's mane. The soft morning light adds a good quality, highlighting each detail.
I clicked this photo randomly while on a jungle safari, but it turned out to be very good. I feel a deep connection with nature every time I see it.

One of my favourite pastimes is looking over my old images and having conversations with others about them. Though that's not really what I should be talking about here, I find it fascinating how amazing cameras are at storing our memories. Instead, I should be discussing a photo I shot that makes me nostalgic every time I look at it.
On a memorable trip to Udaipur, I took a photo of my two best friends at the city palace in front of a huge fort and beautiful Lake Pichola in the background. I took this photo on a warm evening in late October, just as the sun was setting. The golden light made everything look even more beautiful.
We had no other camera option at that time, so I clicked that photo with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. It’s a good lens, and high-quality pictures helped me capture all the details of the palace and the lake.
In the picture, my two best friends are smiling and excited. We were happy to be in front of the historic City Palace and the calm Lake Pichola.
This photo means a lot to me because it captures a beautiful scene and a special memory. It shows our strong friendship and the backdrop of Udaipur's famous sights. I'm proud of this photo because it reminds me of our first trip together, which was full of exploration, laughter, and joy. Apart from this, the view of the fort and lake was so aesthetic and captivating.
Looking at this photo brings back the excitement and happiness of our trip to Udaipur. This photo is a reminder of our amazing adventure, a symbol of our lasting friendship and the fun of discovering new places together.

Capturing an aesthetic view has always been my passion. I love capturing amazing views. I also run a page on Instagram where I show the world through my camera lenses. Here, I am describing a view that I captured of my city.
One cold winter night, at Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur, the city's highest point, I took a photo that captured the breathtaking beauty of the city below—a stunning view of Jaipur glowing under the starry sky. It was a clear December evening, and the wind was flowing slowly. The city lights twinkled below, creating a warm glow against the dark night sky.
I used my reliable DSLR camera to capture the intricate details of the night scene. Its advanced features helped me capture the city lights and shadows.
This photo didn't have any people. It showed the expansive cityscape of Jaipur, dotted with colourful night lights, a clear night sky full of stars, and an aesthetic moon.
I'm proud of this photo because it perfectly captures Jaipur at night, a city rich in history and culture yet buzzing with modern life. The contrast of light and shadow and the city's glow against the dark sky create a sense of peace and wonder. The photo showcases Jaipur's beauty from a unique viewpoint, highlighting its stunning architecture and the blend of nature with urban surroundings.
Undoubtedly, it is one of the most amazing pictures I have taken. It is very close to my heart because it captures my beautiful city, Jaipur.

Below are some sample questions that might be asked in the IELTS speaking part 3 related to the cue card topic, “Describe a photo that you took and are proud of”.
Q: Why do some people use photographs to document essential things?
A: Some people find it more convenient to use photographs to record significant occasions since they act as concrete mementoes of treasured experiences, enabling them to revisit those times every time they look at the pictures. Furthermore, sharing photos with friends and family is simple and makes it possible for people to bond over experiences that they have in common.
Q: Which is better, taking photos or keeping a diary?
A: Keeping a diary and taking pictures have different meanings in life. Keeping a diary might take a lot of time in today's fast-paced world, where time is valuable. As a result, most people find it more convenient to capture moments with images, making it a quicker and more accessible way to preserve treasured memories.
Q: What can one learn from photographs taken throughout history?
A: Photographs teach us about the achievements and tragedies of our forefathers. They document our failures as well as our successes, serving as a living testament to human inventiveness and advancement. For example, images of lush forests from the past taken at locations now occupied by tall, modern structures demonstrate our architectural prowess and how we sacrificed the environment to get there.
Q: Are photographs the best way to remember something?
A: Yes, pictures are the best way to remember the past. Because our memories are not perfect, taking pictures might help us recall important occasions in life more precisely. The human brain is not a file where we can keep all of our memories. Even humans can forget a memorable moment after a few years, but if it is captured on camera, it can help us recall the location, the people, the feeling, the emotion, and so forth.
